Web 2.0 Award List

Web 2.0 Awards List was a very interesting site. I went into the geneolgy site to see what was there. As I am into doing my family tree I think this site will be very useful. It had a "My Heritage" site which won 1st place and got 4 and 5 star ratings. I had look around this site and discovered you can form your family tree and put digital photos on it and even make digital photos that look similar to your family. It is really a geneolgy site for managing your digital photos. They give you a tour around the site and a free account so you can get in easily and it was easy to navigate. I can't wait to get on it in my spare time and have a go. There are also alot of other geneolgy sites that would be worth a visit also. There are so many subjects you can go in under also, depending on your interests. This is well worth the visit.

No 23 The Final Frontier

Well who would have believed it. I am finally at the end of this journey. It has at times been utterly frustrating, very time consuming and at times very rewarding. I don't think I am a blogger at heart but have enjoyed seeing other peoples blogs including my granchildrens. It has helped me grow in confidence and explore things I would otherwise never have done. I still have difficulty remembering how to transfer images and find it's a trial and error situation as I have never had tuition in this area. Fortunately I have very understanding work colleague's who have been there for me. I would like to thank everyone of you for your support, help and imput into my being able to work through this programme and the lovely comments you left on my blog. Hang in there if you aren't finished, there is a life away from blogging and light at the end of the tunnel.

This is TrendyGran signing off.

Podcast

Well I did have fun trying to achieve this podcast and transfer it to my bloglines http://www.bloglines.com/blog/TrendyGran. Hopefully it has been successful and you too can have a listen to this podcast. I could't find anything in particular relating to New Zealand at the olympics but that's not to say there isn't anything there.

Video

I checked the video clips and did a few searches. I found that very interesting and played a little bit of one. It would be handy to see what is out there and has a particular programme been put onto video yet or not. I notice it referred you to "youtube" quite a bit of the time which means you could go straight to that site. There seemed to be alot of music clips also, but I'm not sure if I would use that. Maybe if you wanted to sample some type of music before investing in it on CD it would be very handy.

ebooks

http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/scores/top I had a look at this website, but found you would have to download the book and as it was large book I had chosen I did not do this. I found this a very interesting site though, but don't think I would read books on line unless I was needing to find something in particular for a project. I did notice you could get CD's and DVD's for free on this site which may be of interest in the future. I would still prefer to curl up and read a real book.

Podcasts

http://games.podcast.com/ I had a look at Podcasts but don't think I would use it much. I also had a look at itunes but it's not really my thing either. Very good for people who want to have music playing while doing other things. I notice people of my generation don't like noise when concentrating but my childrens generation can't seem to work without music playing in the background.

Youtube commercial from 1960's.

This is a 1960's commercial which had a doll that my sister had as a child. It is made of a softer plastic than the doll I had. Mine was a pedigree doll called a "Walkie Talkie" which I still have in my possession.
